Light + Building 2018: With "The Colour of Light" BÄRO inspired experts and planners from around the world.

Late snow in March wasn't the only surprise for visitors to this year's Light + Building from 18 to 23 March 2018 in Frankfurt – the BÄRO stand also had plenty of innovations in store for them. Planners and architects alike were impressed by the new CX recessed luminaire, the variety of light colours and the innovative application of smart lighting with LinkRay™.

In Frankfurt BÄRO once again presented the company as a technically competent and design conscious lighting partner for retailers. The setting for this was the clearly structured, open and spacious stand which the manufacturer designed together with the Cologne agency Meiré und Meiré. Visitors to the fair were able to experience the leitmotif "BÄRO – The Colour of Light" in a pure form with the backlit squares of a "wall of light", and also the specific application of spectrally optimised light for different product categories.

Spectrally optimised light from a single source
For example, the new CX recessed luminaires attracted lots of attention and they are also available for the first time as a plaster variant. They take the field of ceiling-integrated lighting a step further and enable comprehensive spectrally optimised lighting concepts in combination with BÄRO spotlights and suspended luminaires.

Visitors were also able to see all kinds of different applications for the flat panels of the TX luminaire series and many of them were also inspired by the almost endless possibilities for creating customised products with BÄRO Individual.

Innovative retail scenarios with Linkray™ and motorised spotlights
A look at the immediate future of retail lighting at BÄRO's stand proved to be a real talking point. Firstly, motorised spotlights from the British partner RCL Light Ltd. that can be pivoted, swivelled and dimmed with remote control and which will expand the BÄRO portfolio in future. And secondly, the application of LinkRay™ technology developed by Panasonic. Here BÄRO presented spotlights with a light cone that does not only showcase products such as textiles and food perfectly, but can also transmit data on the products illuminated to customers' smartphones.

With the clear ID number of the luminaire as a key, information on the product illuminated, the location in the store and also general information on the brand or label can be linked. The experts agreed that this technology will change interaction between customers, products and retailers. "We look forward to finding out about the innovative retail scenarios that dealers develop with these products", says Managing Director Dr Sandra von Möller and she emphasises: "What we presented here in Frankfurt were not laboratory prototypes, but marketable products."
