What is important?

A lighting concept with light planning is based on the building specifications of the sales premises in question, the way in which products are presented and the product characteristics and consistency. If you are considering new product lighting, the following examples could provide reference points and inspiration.

Atmosphere
Create an atmosphere with light.
It is well known that light attracts customers. Product groups that are atmospherically illuminated attract customers' attention more quickly and have been proven to sell better. Skilful lighting creates an atmosphere and this atmosphere in turn creates a positive mood and feelings among shoppers. Atmospherically illuminated product groups play a major role in making customers feel comfortable on the premises so that they enjoying returning. And when stylish luminaires enhance the interior design this adds to the positive overall impression.

Entrance areas
Create highlights with light in the entrance area.
Starting with the entrance area it is important to create an inviting atmosphere with light that attracts attention from afar. The entrance areas of bakeries, butchers' shops, clothes stores and all kinds of other retail stores often disappear among the different building facades competing for attention. BÄRO light sources with a high light intensity are called for here to make the store entrance clearly stand out from its surroundings and also to attract passers-by.

Windows
Windows need to be seen.
Display windows are the calling card of every retail store. Intelligent BÄRO lighting technology with powerful light intensity ensures that your shop windows and the products on display are shown to best effect. Skilful lighting which manages to create a perfect product presentation that is effective from a distance and makes the windows stand out from their surroundings – even when competing with daylight – is essential for every shop window presentation.

Rear walls
Attract attention with rear walls.
From supermarkets to butchers' shops - rear walls right up to the ceiling form the end of the store and professional lighting can make them extremely effective from a distance. For example, bright lighting with wall washers quickly directs attention to the special offers and guides shoppers through the store on an unconscious level. Atmospherically illuminated bread shelves or rear walls coordinated with the products on offer in butchers' shops are also a good way of presenting the products in an appetising manner. The quality of the products is immediately apparent to customers.

Serving counters
If possible, serving counters should not have their own light sources.
Serving counters are the ideal stage for fresh meat and sausages, bakery and cake products, cheese, fish and delicatessen products. Perfect product presentation with BÄRO Food Light and product preservation with patented filter technology go hand in hand here. Thanks to innovative and energy-saving lamps fitted in recessed luminaires integrated in the ceiling above the serving counter, versatile surface-mounted or decorative suspended luminaires BARO is able to present the fresh products in a way that makes it possible to dispense with separate counter lighting. This applies to both specialist food stores and supermarkets.

Fridges/freezers
A cool presentation.
Cold products should stay cold and be attractively illuminated with minimum heat generation. From chilled display cabinets to freezer units - the BARO light planners succeed in meeting this challenge. The balanced interaction of light output, wattage, patented filters to protect the products, minimum distance to the products and luminaire spacing ensures that the cooling chain is maintained. Furthermore, the light intensity must be such that the colourful variety of brand packaging is brightly presented in all the different colours and well visible to customers, even in the furthest corner of the chilled cabinet or on the lowest level of the freezer unit.

Promotional areas
Promotional areas become bright islands of light.
Promotional areas aim to draw customers' attention to certain products and they need to be illuminated accordingly. It is not enough to simply give them a new position in the store – the promotional area must be really eye-catching. The BARO light planners provide you with advice and support in this.

Eating areas
Light turns eating areas into relaxation zones.
For many customers eating areas are oases of relaxation and rest where they can linger for a while. They are places to sit down, relax for a moment and recharge batteries. The lighting installed should underline this with an atmosphere that is perceived as relaxing, friendly and warm. The more relaxed customers feel, the more likely they are to return. Opt for BARO lighting to illuminate eating areas and make your guests feel at home.

Shelves
Shelves need top quality lighting.
The illumination of opposite shelves is what innovative Batwing lighting technology does best. Positioned centrally above the aisle, a single Batwing luminaire is sufficient to illuminate opposite shelves 2.5 metres apart brightly and evenly from top to bottom. Batwing enables luminaire spacings of up to four metres. This enables both investment and energy cost savings to be made.

Tiered wall displays
Batwing makes walls look attractive.
Long wall displays needn't look boring. Batwing lighting technology from BARO shows products to best advantage both horizontally and vertically in an even bright light that shows off their contrasting colours. For example, just 7 Batwing luminaires are sufficient to perfectly illuminate a 30 metre tiered wall display. Special reflector technology makes this possible and will put a smile on the face of prudent businessmen!

Check-out areas
Improve visibility at the check-out area.
Good visibility is particularly important in check-out areas for both staff and customers. Professional lighting technology from BARO allows staff to concentrate on their work for hours without feeling tired or making mistakes. And the good lighting conditions give customers the reassurance that they are able to even read the small print on till receipts. A responsible store will ensure that the check-out, too, is an area with exemplary illumination for the sake of staff and customers.
